About

How does kitesearch work?
Kitesearch gathers news from kite based websites and collates the information.
It uses RSS feeds for news gathering and is built using the Open Source Software Lilina which is in turn built upon the Open Source Software Magpie RSS.

What is RSS?
RSS is an information feed that allows other people to receive news in any way they choose, such as through this website.

How can I create an RSS feed or find out more about RSS?
Search for RSS using any search engine or look at this website as a starting point http://rssgov.com/rssworkshop.html.

I'm an RSS feed supplier, will kitesearch hammer my server and bandwidth?
No. Kitesearch uses Magpie RSS's caching system which means that news items are served from a local cache until your RSS feed is updated.

My favicon.ico image is displayed larger than other icons.
16 x 16 pixels is the standard size for a favicon.ico. It is likely that your favicon.ico is larger than this. See Wikipedia or refer to documents on Google for further information.

The favicon.ico images are not displaying.
This is a know problem with Internet Explorer and a fix is being worked on. Try using a different browser such as Firefox from Mozilla. Other non Internet Explorer browsers may also work as expected.

How can I contact you or subscribe / unsubscribe my RSS feed?
Use the form below. New RSS feeds are only added after been checked for relevancy. Should you wish for your RSS feed to be removed from kitesearch for whatever reason we will do so at our earliest opportunity. Your email address will NOT be passed onto any third party and neither will we use it to send you unsolicited mail.
